Raising crabs in plastic boxes – New model in Quang Yen
3 years ago, after being introduced and shared about the model of crab in the plastic box, seeing many prospects, Mr. Tran Xuan Giang had an intention to invest in this model. . From 2020 to now, Mr. Giang has been exploring on many information channels and to the crab farming models in the box to learn from experience. Previously, his family also had experience in raising crabs in the form of advertising in the lagoon for more than ten years. Although this model gives good income, raising crabs in the dress is easy to face many risks, crabs often get sick, leading to low harvest productivity, economic value, and high profits. After the study period, Mr. Giang found that the model of raising crab in plastic boxes in some other localities brought high economic efficiency, so the factory investment decided, plastic box system, water treatment system, children like … pursuing this model.
Leading us to visit the crab breeding model directly in plastic containers, Mr. Tran Xuan Giang shared: Initially, the family re -invested the factory system, ordering 648 plastic boxes to raise crabs. Each rectangular plastic container has a length of 30-40cm, divided into each compartment, each compartment for raising a crab. In order to tame the natural crab variety, it takes a lot of time and effort in the environment. Crab breeds in the box are selected to buy from local breeding crab households. Each child weighs about 2-2.5g, ensuring healthy. The source of crab water is taken directly from Mr. Giang from Ben Giang River with salinity corresponding to the crab variety that people are raising in the form of extensive farming. During the farming process, it is necessary to regularly check the water quality parameters, the temperature and health, the ability to eat and drink crabs, to promptly adjust the system to ensure the living environment for crabs.
According to Mr. Giang, raising crabs in the box has many differences compared to crab farming. Raising crabs in plastic containers is less space. However, the process of eating crabs will take more time than the crab in the lagoon because it will have to drop food into each box for crabs to eat. Every day, crabs are taken care of a diet 2 meals according to the time frame (7 hours and 17 hours). The special thing about crab food is mainly fresh seafood such as oysters, fresh fish, mussels … This is a source of food collected from the local waters, so it is easy to be proactive and cost -effective. Not only that, raising crab crabs in plastic containers can control the number, few epidemics, convenient care, quick harvest …
After more than 10 days of raising over 600 crabs in plastic boxes, up to now, the crab model of Mr. Tran Xuan Giang’s family is adapting and growing well. The ratio of life reaches 93-95%. It is expected that the farming in the box is from 15-35 days to the cycle of molting (peeling). This is the stage of crab starting to harvest, reaching about 3-4 heads/kg. Peeled crabs with high nutrient content should be ordered by many traders and restaurants. Currently, the average selling price of crabs ranges from 650,000-700,000 VND/kg (higher than crabs raising in the dress from 200,000-250,000 VND/kg). In the coming time, Mr. Giang will replicate and develop 3,000 crabs in plastic boxes.
